This morning while I was getting ready for the super Spanish breakfast ( happy tomato+oil+salt toasts) I discovered a really interesting article based on a new hit in the USA.The book called "The Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother "(Amy Chua) , which goes sky-high all over the world, discusses the ways employed by many Chinese mothers in order to turn their children into the "new brains" of our time.Up to now, everything seems normal -even useful -However, most of these techniques are controversial and quite risky since not all chilren behave the same to different circumstances or events. Amy Chua ,who works as a teacher of Law at Yale Law School ,listed a number of rules that she said she enforced on her two daughters. According to the article they were not allowed to : attend a sleepover ,have a playdate ,be in a school play
complain about not being in a school play ,watch TV or play computer games
choose their own extracurricular activities ,get any grade less than an A
not be the No. 1 student in every subject except gym and drama ,play any instrument other than the piano or violin ... OMG!

What are the reactions to the book? what happened with the mother´s day card? What type of advice does she give to parents?
